The thin grind and Doi’s meticulous heat treatment, result in a remarkable hardness of 64 HRC, ensure these blades are exceptional cutters. The handles, crafted from Magnolia wood, often revered in Japan as the “wood of the gods” for its use in shrines, lend a warm orange hue and beautiful grain that perfectly complements the magnolia wood Saya (sheath) accompanying each knife. With a mirror finish and a mesmerizing Damascus pattern adorning the three-layer construction, these knives seamlessly blend functionality and aesthetic appeal, embodying the pinnacle of Japanese blade smiting.

MAINTENANCE: PLEASE NOTE THESE ARE VERY HIGH-CARBON KNIVES WITH AN EDGE THAT WILL OXIDISE WHICH CAN BE REDUCED AND REMOVED WITH THE USE OF RUST-REMOVING CREAM AND CAMELIA OIL WHICH ARE AVAILABLE IN OUR MAINTENANCE SECTION.
