The Japanese Higo no Kami pocket knife embodies tradition. Historically, everyone in Japan, including school children, carried such a knife. The Higo pocket knife was commonly used for sharpening pencils and various other tasks.
The blade can be easily opened using the ‘chikiri’ (the lever at the end of the blade). Typical of this knife style, it lacks a lock and the blade fully retracts into the handle when closed.
Carbon Steel :- This steel has a high carbon content, making it extremely shock-resistant and tough. Some maintenance is required to keep the blade sharp, but fortunately, it is very easy to sharpen. However, this type of steel is not resistant to corrosion.
