Higonokami – traditional Japanese pocket knife
This pocket knife from Nagao in Miki City has a blade core of hard Aogami steel, also known as blue paper steel. The two outer layers of the blade are made of soft iron. This ingeniously combines both elasticity and hardness. The knife is not rustproof and should be oiled occasionally, preferably with camellia oil.
The open grip plate is coated with a special silver lacquer speckled with gold. Very attractive surface finish!
