American Walnut 360° Rotating Magnetic Block

The Blockwerk Monolith Strandgut is a magnetic knife block that can hold up to 4 knives.

Technically, the Monolith Strand gut block is identical to the regular Monolith block. It features a solid walnut wood body with an engraved Blockwerk logo, measuring 10 x 10 x 23 cm, and a heavy steel base measuring 12.5 x 12.5 x 2.5 cm. However, the wood body of the Strandgut version is hand-treated to give it the appearance of driftwood. The edges are axed to create a weathered look, while the base is given an antique finish that complements the body. The untreated base may develop surface rust, but this can be easily removed with a sponge or prevented by oiling the base periodically.

The body can rotate 360 degrees and features embedded magnets that securely hold up to 4 knives with a maximum blade length of 23 cm, depending on the knife’s design. To ensure a proper fit, measure the length from the tip of the blade to the bolster (the transition from the blade to the handle). The knives are easily accessible and can be removed with one hand. This is not always the case with other knife blocks.

The block’s weight of approximately 4.5 kg and non-slip base coating make it virtually impossible to tip or slide on a countertop, assuming normal use. The total height of this masterpiece, including the base, is 26.5 cm.

Each Monolith Strandgut knife block is meticulously crafted by hand, treated, and delivered in a wooden gift box. The wood body is also protected by a matching linen bag. Due to variations in the wood grain and treatment, the delivered block may differ from the image, making each block a unique piece.

The Blockwerk Monolith blocks are masterpieces, but the Monolith Strand gut knife blocks are true works of art, unmatched in appearance and impressive in function.
